Your child’s happiness, well-being and security is our number one priority.
All the teachers and teaching assistants are trained in general strategies to support pupils who may be experiencing emotional or social difficulties.
Several members of staff had more specific training in supporting pupils experiencing such difficulties. These are Ms Lorraine Stacey (Children’s Champion) and Mrs Karen Murrie are both ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistants) .
Children are encouraged to speak to any member of staff if they have any worries or concerns. Some children may be offered specific well-being interventions usually with Ms Stacey or Mrs Jones, our CYC Well-Being Worker. All support offered is sensitively planned from the child as a starting point so that it is tailored to individual emotional developmental stages.
Our aim is to ensure that not only do all pupils feel happy, secure and valued but that they are also able to work in a calm, pleasant and purposeful environment without disruption.
